REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- The biggest public radio station in Indonesia, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) will open five bureaus abroad. These foreign bureaus aim to meet government expectation to make an international media company.

"RRI has sent several reporters to five countries, Australia, Egypt, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea since Juli 2013. They stay for three to five months to explore the opening of foreign bureaus," Program Director and Production of RRI Kabul Budiono said on Friday.

Reporters who are sent abroad come from Jakarta and some areas that have been selected primarily in English skills. They are already sent to Egypt for one month, three months in Japan and three months in Malaysia. RRI has also been broadcast in several international languages.

Budiono said that RRI has evaluated and listened to experiences of reporters who had been stationed abroad about the opportunity, issues and regulations that should be followed for opening bureau abroad. RRI also learned from Antara news agency, which has long operations experience abroad.
