REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- Bogor city government plans to increase budget to add more green open spaces in 2015. Bogor currently has only 10 percent of green open spaces, including Bogor Botanical Garden (85 hectares), CIFOR forests (65 hectares) and technical irrigated rice area of 650 hectares in three districts and cities in Bogor.

This figure is still far from the requirements on Spatial Planning, which must reach 30 percent of areas in a region. Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Usmar Hariman said that local government continued to pursue the green open spaces expansion. Government allocated budget of 20 billion IDR in 2015 for the purpose, an increase from 10 billion IDR in 2014.

The number always increased year to year. In 2012, budget for green open spaces was only 500 million IDR, while in 2013 up to 5 billion IDR.

According to Hariman, city government through line banking system proposed budget for new lands that have been designed as green open spaces. Meanwhile, for the land acquisition, it could be allocated from regional budget.
