Megawati invites China to invest in Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NUSA DUA -- Chairman of the Democratic Party of Struggle Megawati Sukarnoputri, invited Chinese businessmen to invest in Indonesia. Therefore, Indonesia and China are two countries that had established a close relationship.

Megawati asserted, Indonesia remains open to receive businessmen, especially from China, to become investors in Indonesia.

''When I visited China and Ziang Ze Ni served as president of China, I express to Ziang that this was the right time to improve relationship between Indonesia and China,'' said Megawati while attending the 13th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention, in Nusa Dua, Bali, Saturday (26/9)

Chairman of People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Zulkifli Hasan, who were also present at the meeting, hoped that Chinese entrepreneurs could relocate medium manufacturing technology to Indonesia in cooperation with local businessmen. He admitted, Chinese manufacturing has been developed.

"We need medium manufacturing instead of high-tech manufacturing," said Zulkifli to 3,000 Chinese businessmen who attended the meeting.

To the Chinese businessmen, Zulkifli confirmed that Indonesia was very safe for investment because of its political stability and security.
