REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUPANG -- Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is set to visit Larantuka, East Flores district in East Nusa Tenggara province, to inspect the planned locations for the Pancasila bridge and sea current power plant.

"The Dutch government is very serious about constructing a bridge and sea current power plant in Gonsalu Strait. The Dutch Prime Minister and Ambassador to Indonesia are planning to visit Larantuka to inspect the locations," East Nusa Tenggara Governor Frans Lebu Raya said here on Thursday.

The Pancasila Palmerah bridge will connect the Flores and Adonara islands.

No date has been set for the Dutch PM's visit to the area. However, he will visit Larantuka as part of his Indonesian trip later this year.

The governor said the Indonesian government is in the process of floating a tender for a feasibility study and detailed engineering design of the project.

"Once the feasibility study and detailed engineering design have been completed, there will be an agreement on a funding scheme and work on the construction of the project can be started," he said.

The governor said he has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dutch government for the construction of the bridge and sea current power plant.
