Erick Thohir: BUMN accepts input from presidential and vice-presidential candidates
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said BUMN received all input and criticism.
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that BUMN received all input and criticism from various community groups, including from the presidential and vice-presidential candidates. The Minister of BUMN also stated that all changes at the level of BUMN directors are normal things in a corporation which also receive different responses.
"When I open sensitive matters in BUMN, I am lillahi ta'ala, there is no interest, I am consistent to this day in continuing to improve BUMN without any conflict of interest," said Erick during a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Last Monday (4/12/2023).
With a number of positive achievements that have occurred in the last few years, Erick understands that there are still shortcomings in BUMN. For this reason, Erick is always open to receiving input from the public, including presidential and vice presidential candidates.
"Even if there are shortcomings, it will be a correction for us. This is a political year, I think the presidential and vice presidential candidates will definitely have good thoughts for BUMN," continued Erick.
BUMN, said Erick, always tries to be professional and focused on carrying out its duties according to the outline that has been implemented by the government. "We are of course guarding sensitive areas, but we are sure that what has been done jointly between the Ministry of BUMN and Commission VI is in the right direction," said Erick.
Erick Thohir targets 88 BUMN strategic projects to be completed by 2024. So far Erick has succeeded in completing 80 BUMN strategic projects or around 90 percent of the total BUMN strategic projects this year.
"In October 2024 when this government ends, we can complete these 88 programs," said Erick.
Erick conveyed that the eight programs that will be the main focus in 2024 are financial restructuring, completing infrastructure projects, sharpening business focus, completing holdingization, refocusing energy transition, supporting downstreaming, and continuing to unlock value.
Erick said that financial restructuring would target the infrastructure and health sectors. Meanwhile, completion of infrastructure projects includes the Trans Sumatra toll road, special economic zones (KEK), and ports.
