Erick Thohir will disband seven BUMNs?
The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) under the leadership of Erick Thohir will make a big breakthrough.
JAKARTA -- The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) under the leadership of Erick Thohir will make a big breakthrough at the end of 2023, namely dissolving a number of BUMNs.
From the start, Erick Thohir had assigned members of the Danareksa holding company, PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (PPA), to study a number of BUMNs that were in a 'sick' condition.
PPA as part of Danareksa BUMN Holding is given the mandate to act as an active manager of a number of BUMNs. The plan is for the Ministry of BUMN and PPA to announce the list of BUMNs that have been disbanded.
"Based on the results of the study and all the efforts that have been made, it is concluded that there are seven BUMNs that will be dissolved," wrote the PPA press conference invitation received by Republika.co.id in Jakarta, Friday (29/12/2023).
Erick Thohir has been committed from the start to streamlining the number of BUMNs, which is currently 41 BUMNs from the previous 108 BUMNs. Erick wants to continue reducing the number of BUMNs until there are 30 BUMNs left.
The dissolution of a number of BUMNs was announced by BUMN Minister Erick Thohir last March. At that time, the former President of Inter Milan dissolved three state-owned companies, namely PT Industri Gelas or Iglas, PT Kertas Kraft Aceh or KKA, and PT Industri Sandang Nusantara.
Erick said there were still four other BUMNs that would be dissolved, namely PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines, PT Istaka Karya, PT Pembangunan Armada Niaga Nasional or PANN and PT Kertas Leces.
Erick said that PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines and PT Istaka Karya are currently undergoing a homologation process, while PANN and Kertas Leces are just completing the administrative process and will follow the three BUMNs that have been dissolved.
Erick said the three BUMNs were disbanded because they had not been operating for a long time. Erick considers this condition to be very bad for the company, employees and the country.
