PWNU Jakarta Fires Zainul Maarif and Three Other Administrators for Going to Israel
Zainul Maarif dismissed for meeting Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama Region (PWNU) DKI Jakarta KH Samsul Maarif dismissed Zainul Maarif was due to go to Israel and meet with President Isaac Herzog.
Not only dismissed Zainul Maarif, Kiai Samsul also dismissed three other administrators, namely Chairman of Bahtsul Masail Institution (LBM) PWNU DKI
Mu'ti Ali Qusyairi, Roland Gunawan, and Sapri Saleh.

“We PWNU administrators from the ranks of Syriah and Tanfidziyah held a meeting earlier decided that some of the people directly and indirectly involved in the departure of NU children to Israel were dismissed from the management of Bahtsul Masail PWNU DKI Jakarta,” Kiai Samsul said after the meeting in PWNU DKI Jakarta office in East Jakarta, Thursday (18/7/2024).
Before dismissing them, Kiai Samsul had conducted interviews and asked them directly, especially related to Zainul Maarif's departure to Israel. After that, Kiai Samsul held a meeting with the Syuriah and Tanfidziyah ranks.
“So these four people were dismissed from the management of LBM PWNU DKI Jakarta. I guess that, I conveyed the results of the meeting between the Syriac ranks and Tanfidziyah PWNU DKI Jakarta,” Kiai Samsul said.
He also revealed the reason for dismissing four managers of LBM PWNU DKI Jakarta. According to him, Zainul Maarif was dismissed for going directly to Israel and meeting the Israeli president.
“That's the main reason for Zainul Maarif. If the others were because of organizational misconduct, they joined an organization called Rahim. Rahim is one of them is indeed the leader of Mr. Mukti Ali,” Kiai Samsul said.
