REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia is geographically located in the region of the pacific ring of fire or the so-called pacific ring of fire. Because there is a confluence of three tectonic plates of the world in the Indonesian region, namely the Indo-Austalia plate, the Eurasian plate and the Pacific plate.
The confluence of the three plates makes in the territory of Indonesia there are many volcanoes. As is well known, the Quran mentions the mountain in its verses. The existence of the mountain and its benefits are a clear sign of the greatness of God SWT who createdthe universe.
The Chairman of the Grand Governing Body (PB) Al Washliyah Masyhuril Khamis said that the mountain is referred to by Allah SWT in many words as a form of His power. Allah has mentioned several benefits of the mountain among them as a peg of the earth to make it more solid.
Kiai Masyhuril said that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala said in Surah An-Naba' Verses 6 and 7.
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًا
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا
That is to say: Have We not made the earth an expanse and the mountains a stake? (QS An-Naba': 6-7)
He explained that in the verse it is explained that God made the mountains a stake to strengthen the earth. So that the earth does not shake because of the shocks that are under it.
In Surah An-Nahl Verse 81 and Surah Fatir Verse 27, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says:
وَاللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلٰلًا وَّجَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنَ الْجِبَالِ اَكْنَانًا وَّجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَابِيْلَ تَقِيْكُمُ الْحَرَّ وَسَرَابِيْلَ تَقِيْكُمْ بَأْسَكُمْ ۚ كَذٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهٗ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُوْنَ
That is, God has made shelter for you from what He has created. He has made for you enclosed places (caves and passages for habitation) in the mountains. He made clothes for you to protect you from the heat and clothing (armor) to protect you in battle. Thus Allah has perfected His favour for you so that you may surrender (to Him). (QS An-Nahl Verse 81)
اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ اَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءًۚ فَاَخْرَجْنَا بِهٖ ثَمَرٰتٍ مُّخْتَلِفًا اَلْوَانُهَا ۗوَمِنَ الْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌ ۢبِيْضٌ وَّحُمْرٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ اَلْوَانُهَا وَغَرَابِيْبُ سُوْدٌ
“Do you not see that Allah sent down water from the heavens, and with it We brought forth the fruits of plants of various colors? Among the mountains there are white and red stripes of various colors and there are also deep black ones. (QS Fatir Verse 27)
Masyhuril explains that the benefits of the mountain are not limited to what is stated in the Quran alone. There are so many beautiful verses that contain many miracles.
“But it can only be seen and witnessed by those who know it,” Kiai Masyhuril told Republika on Thursday (7/12/2023)
In Al-Hasyr Verse 2 it is explained that Allah said, “Learn from this incident, O you who have the sight of the eyes of the heart.
هُوَ الَّذِيْٓ اَخْرَجَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتٰبِ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ لِاَوَّلِ الْحَشْرِۗ مَا ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ يَّخْرُجُوْا وَظَنُّوْٓا اَنَّهُمْ مَّانِعَتُهُمْ حُصُوْنُهُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ فَاَتٰىهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَمْ يَحْتَسِبُوْا وَقَذَفَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمُ الرُّعْبَ يُخْرِبُوْنَ بُيُوْتَهُمْ بِاَيْدِيْهِمْ وَاَيْدِى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَۙ فَاعْتَبِرُوْا يٰٓاُولِى الْاَبْصَارِ
Meaning: It was He who drove the disbelievers among the People of the Book (the Jews of Bani Nadir) out of their hometowns at the time of the first expulsion. You didn't expect them to come out. They also believe that their strongholds will be able to protect them from Allah. And Allah came to them from a direction which they did not understand. He instilled fear in their hearts so that they destroyed their houses with his own hands and the hands of the believers. Therefore, take a lesson, O men of vision. (QS Al-Hasyr Verse 2)
People in Indonesia who live in areas where there are many volcanoes should be aware that these mountains can cause earthquakes or erupt if Allah wills. Therefore, when Indonesians see the mountain, they should remember that God created the mountain, so that they believe and fear God more and more.
