REPUBLICA.CO.ID, LIVERPOOL-- A woman in England reveals her life has changed since she became a convert five years ago. He shared his impressions after becoming a convert.
Katie, who lives in London, made a video on TikTok explaining how she became a Muslim and answered some of people's questions including why she didn't wear a hijab.
In the video titled 'My Story of Conversion to Islam' she explained to her 73,000 followers that she returned to the religion and was often asked questions about what it contained.
In Islam, some people use the word 'return' rather than 'convert' because of the belief that all people are born with a natural faith in God. However it is possible that one abandons this belief in life and then returns to it (Islam).
There were as many as 400,000 people watching the video of Katie, the mother of one child. Most viewers thanked him for the insight he gave about his life as a Muslim.
In the clip, Katie explained to her 73,000 followers, “Five years ago, I converted to Islam and I wanted to share a little bit about my story because I've never talked about it on my page and I always get questions about it.”
Reported by Dailymail on Tuesday (28/11/2023), Katie revealed that she met her husband eight years ago, who is Lebanese and adheres to Islam. She added that there was never any pressure on her to convert and she spent several years doing a bit of research before making the decision to embrace Islam.
Katie said: “I'm just going to be honest with you guys, I grew up in a family that abused alcohol and as I got older I came to understand that those things were just sheer crimes.”
“Islam helped me find peace with those things and helped me stay on a good path, especially now that having a family, it's much more important to me.”
“When I was doing research on Islam, there were a lot of things that aligned with myself and my morals and I just knew that this was the beginning of my journey.”
“Then, I returned to Islam, my husband and I got married Islamically and a few years later, we started our own family.”
