REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA- Islam teaches various criteria for lucky people. For example, those who call on virtue while preventing prostration (amar makruf nahi mungkar), as mentioned in Surah Ali Imran verse 104.

Another example is the group of believers who always keep their prayers, described in QS al-Hajj verse 77.

In Indonesian, fate of mujur is called the right step. For example, someone who gets unexpected sustenance.

Meaning, he has stepped right. Of course, luck involves many factors. At a minimum, you have done it even by stepping on your feet.

In a hadith, the Prophet Muhammad confirmed the issue of fame. He said in the story of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin al-'Ash RA, as follows:

“It is fortunate that those who are guided in Islam are given sufficient sustenance, and qana'ah (feel enough) with that sustenance. “(transmitted by Ibn Majah).

Yes, faith is the main thing that will be a factor in luck, both in the world and in the hereafter. In Surah Ali Imran verse 102, Allah SWT said:

“O you who believe, fear Allah as you truly fear Him; and you shall not die except in the state of Islam.“

So in living life, a believer should firmly maintain his faith and Islam. Do not let worldly trinkets distract from the commitment to Islam.

In the same hadith, the Prophet (pbuh) also states that Muslims who have been given sufficient sustenance are lucky.

Islam teaches that the concept of sustenance is not solely related to matter. In fact, God's most precious gift is often invisible to the eye.

The greatest favor is Islam and faith. Without both, the whole age in this world is just a waste, especially when it is about to die. Make gratitude the way of life. In Ihya Ulum ad-Din, Imam al-Ghazali said that the essence of gratitude is to live that only Allah is the only benefactor.

In the hadith above, what is meant by qanaah is willing to accept anything that has been given. Qanaah can also be interpreted as feeling enough.

That characteristic is born of self-awareness as a servant of Allah SWT. A person who is qanaah believes that Allah has assigned sustenance to each of His creatures. Then, don't worry. There is no need to be spiteful when you see the happiness of others.

“Truly, your Lord provides sustenance for whom He wills and limits (for whom He wills). Verily He is All-Knowing, All-Seeing of His Servants. (QS al-Isra verse 30).

(QS. Asy-Syura ayat 14)
