REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Religious Affair launched a 360-degree virtual imaging of Borobudur Temple at Devotion Experience (Dev-X) 78th Bhakti Charity Day (HAB) Ministry, at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday (6/1/2024). Through this imaging, Indonesians and the world can virtually explore the world heritage site of Borobudur Temple: feel first-hand the location, buildings and carvings through 360-degree imaging.
“Ministry of Religious Affair enlivens the 78th House of Ministers by launching a facility using Borobudur Temple for the benefit of the education of Indonesian Buddhists and the world,” said General Director of Budhism Supriyadi at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday (6/1/2024).
Supriyadi said this imaging was the first development undertaken by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. With this imaging, people who have not yet had time to come to Borobudur can experience an exciting experience in 360 degrees.
In addition to 360-degree imaging, the sensations of Borobudur Temple can also be felt through Virtual Reality (VR). People seem to be invited to be directly in Borobudur Temple.
“Every tourist, the public, who will try to define Borobudur Temple and has limited time to climb to the top, then we fill this meaning by setting up a facility so that everyone can observe and study Borobudur Temple,” he said.
This 360-degree imaging and VR sensation starts from the ground floor building. Then, the look continues to move up to the 9th floor and ends at the summit stupa.
