REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan said he would renew the recruitment system in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) if elected president in the 2024 presidential election. He made sure that the dignity and authority of antislavery institutions could return, including strict recruitment of human resources.
“We want to bring people of integrity back into the KPK body. It is not that old people are being returned, but the principle of recruitment based on integrity is intolerable,” Anies said late on Wednesday.
Recruitment based on such integrity will not only be enforced for the leadership of the KPK in the future. But it's also down to the lower posts aka the staffers.
“(The recruitment was enforced) both for the leadership and for KPK employees. That way we can expect one institution to be independent and people in it to have integrity,” he said.
With such a recruitment system, Anies believes the KPK will become an antislavery institution that is again 'alive' and trusted by the public. For putting high ethical standards in the KPK body. This will be reflected in the efforts to revise the law (Law) of the KPK.
“That high standard must be restored in the KPK so that not only the UU gives it strength and independence, but also in it both the leadership and the entire staff work with a very high code of conduct,” he explained.
