Indonesia Investment Realization Breaks Target of 101,3 Percent

The figure exceeded the target set by President Joko Widodo.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Investment/Capital Investment Coordination Agency (BKPM) announced that the realization of investments during 2023 reached Rp 1,418.9 trillion. That figure surpassed the target set by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) of Rp 1,400 trillion or 101,3 percent.

Meanwhile, the total absorption of labor in the period amounted to 1,823,543 people. “In 2023, our target was raised by the President to Rp 1,400 trillion and in RPJMN by Rp 1,099.8 trillion and Alhamdulillah reached Rp 1,418.9 trillion,” said Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia in a presentation at the Ministry of Investment Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (24/1/2023).

It is mentioned that investment realization during January-December 2023 grew by 17.5 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy) compared to the 2022 achievement which reached Rp 1,207.2 trillion. The realization of investments during the last year consisted of the realization of Foreign Capital Investment (PMA) of Rp 744 trillion or equivalent 52.4 percent of the total investment realization, and the realization of Domestic Capital Investment (PMDN) of Rp 674.9 trillion or 47.6 percent.

On an annualized basis, the 2023 PMA realization grew 13.7 percent. PMDN grew 22.1 percent.
