REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President (Vice President) KH Ma'ruf Amin received the hearing of Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Maruli Simanjuntak at the office house, Diponegoro Street Number 2, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (31/01/2024) afternoon WIB.

In addition to meeting him, Maruli admitted, he met with RI 2 to ask for directions on efforts to improve the role and contribution of TNI AD, both in the field of security and community development. He was grateful to be well received by Vice President Kiai Ma'ruf.

“Today I received him (the Vice President) in contact with him, besides I have also served as Paspampres Commander before with him, I also ask him for directions on how we can play a better role,” Maruli said when he met after the meeting.

Maruli said that Vice President Kiai Ma'ruf stressed the importance of TNI AD's role in helping to succeed in the implementation of the democratic party, both in the elections and in the 2024 presidential election. The former commander of Kostrad is ready to perform the assigned tasks well.

“Incidentally, in the field of the army, he has given directions so that later in the future, we in carrying out especially this presidential election can be good, safe, smooth,” Maruli said.

In addition, Maruli also said that Vice President Kiai Maru gave instructions for the AD military to be more active in helping the community. Among them in order to improve the welfare related to the development carried out by the government.

“There are some directives from him, hopefully we can implement soon and (I will) coordinate with his staff, so that later we can continue cooperation to improve the welfare of the community,” Maruli said.

During the meeting, Vice President Kiai Ma'ruf was accompanied by the Head of the Secretariat of the Vice President Ahmad Erani Yustika and the Special Staff of the Vice President for Communications and Information Masduki Baidlowi.
