REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Jakarta--General Chairman of the Ansor Youth Movement (GP Ansor) Addin Jauharuddin declared his readiness to participate and support a conducive 2024 general election. Addin confirmed that GP Ansor will be successful in holding the 2024 elections on February 14.

Addin confirmed he would also wait for directions from the Nahdlatul Ulama Besar (PBNU) regarding the politics of GP Ansor. “When it comes to politics, we are waiting for the directive and the one delivered by PBNU,” Addin said in a statement, Sunday (4/2/2024).

Addin hopes that the entire cadre of GP Ansor can maintain the conditions for the election to proceed peacefully. He also called on all parties to participate and support the conduct of the elections.

“We certainly continue to pray and hope for all Ansor cadres to continue to pray and maintain the condusivity that this election is part of the five-yearly routine. So that all cadres become part of peaceful and conducive movement in society,” Addin stressed.

After being elected as Ketum GP Ansor, Addin also confirmed he would continue what his predecessor Yaqut Cholil Qoumas or Gus Yaqut had run, during his leadership.

“If what Gus Yaqut said earlier, I think it was an agenda that he had prepared. Of course we will support. Then our second message to Ansor is to keep the conductivities so that the election goes smoothly,” Addin said.
