REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir also attended the campaign activity of the capres-vice presidential couple number 2, Prabowo-Gibran in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Wednesday (7/2/2024). Erick in his brief speech urged the thousands of people present to vote for Prabowo-Gibran.

According to Erick, Indonesian football will advance if the people vote for Prabowo-Gibran. “Who wants Indonesian football to advance? Vote for whom?” he said. “Prabowo,” residents said in unison. The campaign moment was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution.

Furthermore, Erick said, the Prabowo-Gibran couple is the best example of unity for the Indonesian nation. He also judged the Prabowo-Gibran pairing to be a harbinger of the birth of Indonesia's youth era.

The SOE minister then invited thousands of people to attend the campaign site to win Prabowo-Gibran in a round of the 2024 presidential election. “North Sumatra is one round, okay?” exclaimed Erick. “Can! ” shouted the crowd.

Erick was known to publicly show his support for Prabowo-Gibran by accompanying the second-ranking presidential couple in the presidential debate arena on Sunday (21/1/2024). Erick even accompanied the two since from Prabowo Subianto's residence on Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta.

At that time, Erick said, despite his support, he would not enter the structure of Prabowo-Gibran's National Campaign Team (TKN). Erick said that he has given his personal support since Prabowo took over his residence some time ago. “Of course it is time for me to take a position for all,” he told reporters.
