NU Anniversary, Student Organization Held Shalawat Peace Ahead of 2024 Election

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANTUL— The Executive Board of Students of Nahdlatul Ulama University (BEM PTNU) Se-Nusantara held a Peace Prayer in order to create safe and peaceful elections in Paseban Square, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Wednesday (7/2/2024). The Indonesian people will determine the candidate for leader on February 14, 2024.

The National Presidum of BEM PTNU Se-Nusantara, Achmad Baha'ur Rifqi, invites people to respect each other's differences in choice. He also emphasized maintaining harmony.

“As a good society and abiding by the rules, we still have to maintain harmony in society even if there are different choices in the conduct of the 2024 elections,” Rifqi said in a press statement on Thursday (8/2/2024).

The Regent of Bantul, Abdul Halim Muslih, appreciated the steps taken by BEM PTNU Se-Nusantara in campaigning for peaceful elections. According to him, what BEM PTNU Se-Nusantara has done is a central step in the 2024 elections.

“How they are present in the community to educate about the importance of maintaining harmony and harmony in society ahead of the 2024 simultaneous elections,” he said.

Peace Prayer is led by Habib Anis Bin Yahya together with Gus Atraf Husein El Hakim and Regent Bantul Abdul Halim Muslih, the entire coordinator of the BEM PTNU Se-Nusantara region and approximately 15 thousand Yogyakarta Societies.

There are three candidates for Capres-Cawapres 2024: Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. Therefore, it is important that the call for people to participate in creating peaceful elections is encouraged.

Meanwhile, the 101st Harlah Reception of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), was held at the Integrated Campus of Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU), Gamping, Sleman, DIY, on Wednesday (31/1/2024).

Chairman General Manager of the Great Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) delivers remarks at the 101st Harlah Reception of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). He reiterated NU's commitment to realize victory for Indonesia.

“Until now, God willing forever, NU's resolve will never fade to continue to serve this nation we love and serve humanity to its fullest,” Gus Yahya said Wednesday (31/1/2024).

Gus Yahya said that the Indonesian nation is currently facing momentum to determine its future.

Although faced with many challenges, at the same time there are so many advantages that, when used strategically, can be used to overcome existing challenges.

“Then NU will not give my hand and will earnestly strive to contribute to the cause of this nation and country we love. So that we can make sure together that Indonesia wins in the face of these challenges,” he said

One of the goals that NU undertakes to realize this commitment is the development of education. According to him, the inauguration of the UNU Yogyakarta building is a big leap for NU.

“I have to be frank that UNU Yogyakarta with this current development has been completed for 2 years but I think it is a leap of more than 50 years for the size of UNU,” he said.

He admitted that the leap began with President Jokowi's personal vision. He said that it was Jokowi who started on how to help NU be better prepared for the future.

“Today we have witnessed what a future we have shortened looks like for this NU. Even later, we will start a step further by kicking off the start of the construction of MBZ Colllege of Future Studies, which I later think will be completed in an even faster time with a much further leap forward perhaps 100-150 years into the next 100 to 150 years, God willing,” he said.
