REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General Chairman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri votes at polling station (TPS) 53, Kebagusan, Jakarta. He voted there accompanied by his extended family.
After voting, he said that the 2024 General Election is the people's means to find a leader. Therefore, he hopes that in the process there will be no cheating.
“So I really hope that even with the current election there is no more fraud. So you journalists, I also ask you to keep an eye on anyone who is bullying,” Megawati said after the election, Wednesday (14/2/2024).
It is clearly the right of the people to freely choose their candidate for leader without any pressure and intimidation. Moreover, the right is also provided for in the Basic Law (UUD) 1945.
“Remember in our constitution that every citizen wherever they are has equal rights in the eyes of the law,” Megawati said.
