REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will submit to the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) a decision on whether to become the opposition in the next government. Jokowi requested that it be asked to the administrators at PDIP.
“Let's ask him who is in the PDIP,” Jokowi, accompanied by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, said after inaugurating the State Defense Hospital of Commander-in-Chief General Sudirman and TNI Hospital in Bintaro on Monday (19/2/2024).
Earlier, Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto responded to a joint call from Prabowo Subianto after being declared superior to the results of a quick count from many pollsters. But he reiterated that the focus is now on investigating indications of fraud in the 2024 presidential election.
The Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) itself will form a special team to investigate this matter. If the entire contestation process is complete, then PDIP will take a stand.
"So that all of this will be scrutinized and then the time will come to convey a political stance regarding the overall results of this presidential election," said Hasto in Jakarta, Thursday (2/15/2024).
"Because the presidential and legislative elections are different, this presidential election is more about how our presidential and vice presidential candidates look," he continued.
Asked about the party's decision whether it will be in opposition to the government for the 2024-2029 period? He actually mentioned Suharto, who was supported by state instruments, but could step down from power.
