REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Menhan Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Central Hospital of the State Defense of the Supreme Commander General Soedirman and TNI Hospital in Bintaro, South Jakarta, Monday (19/2/2024). Jokowi expressed the importance of having complete health facilities as well as adequate human resources (HR) readiness.

The events of the Covid-19 pandemic, he said, became a lesson in coping with health emergencies. “How important it is to have a complete health facility, a hospital with HR readiness and adequate facilities to cope with such health emergencies as we have experienced,” Jokowi said in his speech.

Jokowi also appreciated the construction of the Panglima Besar General Soedirman VAT Hospital and 25 other hospitals initiated by the Ministry of Defense. In his review, Jokowi looked at a number of spaces and equipment in the VAT hospital. According to him, the equipment and facilities provided are already very modern.

“The MRI for example just now, I saw this is the highest spec Tesla 3 can see from any angle we want. Also a CT scan that can also see from all the angles we want. The operating room is also an integrated moderlar as well which is very sophisticated. But whatever, we all want to be healthy,” Jokowi said.

From the reports received, the construction of TNI Hospital used the domestic component rate (TKDN) which reached an average of 70 percent. He also appreciated the high use of TKDN in the construction process of this hospital.

“This is also a very good step to support the development of our national industry to accelerate the recovery of our national economy,” Jokowi said.

He hopes that, with these very modern facilities and equipment, VAT Hospital can become a reference for the Ministry of Defense, the military and families, as well as the general public to get the best health care. In addition, VAT Hospital is also expected to be an educational hospital for the Faculty of Medicine of Defence University.

“And no less important, this hospital will be ready to become the disaster response hospital that we need at any time,” Jokowi said.

The inauguration was attended by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, Army Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and Police General Listyo Sigit. “By proclaiming bismillahirohmanirohim this morning, I inaugurated the Hospital of the State Defense Center of Panglima Besar Soedirman and 20 other hospitals,” Jokowi said.
