REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs (Wamenag) Saiful Rahmat Dasuki said Isra Miraj is not only a historical event, but a source of inspiration to maintain the harmony of religious people.
“Isra Miraj is not a mere historical event, but a source of inspiration that contains a profound message to preserve the harmony of religious people,” said Saiful Rahmat Dasuki in Jakarta, Monday (20/2/2024).
This statement was delivered at the national level Isra Miraj memorial at Balai Sarbini, Jakarta, on Monday evening. This year's commemoration takes on the theme “The Values of Isra Miraj as a Foundation for Building a Strong Indonesia Together with Umat”.
He called the moral message contained in the events of Isra Miraj emphasizing the importance of obedience, loyalty, and piety, as an important pillar in nation-building and strengthening unity in diversity.
“Therefore, this title must be a spirit to preserve harmony, wholeness, and heredity,” Wamenag said.
He also highlighted the importance of prayer as a means of sharpening the sensitivities of conscience that have an impact on the lives of nations and states.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Islam Affairs Kamaruddin Amin said the Isra Miraj commemoration was a moment to tighten the cord of ukhuwah in building mutual respect and strengthening unity.
General Chairman of the Indonesian Ulama Assembly (MUI) Anwar Iskandar reviewed the commemoration of Isra Miraj 1445 Hijriah/2024 AD as a profound message for the Indonesian nation.
According to him, the events of Isra Miraj experienced by Prophet Muhammad Shalallahu Alaihi Wasallam (SAW) before his pilgrimage to Medina, had a great contribution to the spiritual journey and social challenges faced by Muslims at that time.
Amid pressure from the Quraysh in Makkah, Muhammad faced various challenges that tested his faith and steadfastness.
But the events of Isra Miraj became an important turning point that gave strength and inspiration to Muslims in the face of trials and strengthened the foundations of the faith.
“This event teaches the importance of loyalty, unity, and tolerance among religious peoples as the foundation for building an inclusive and harmonious Indonesia. Isra Miraj also recalls the importance of education, knowledge, and morals in shaping a quality civilization,” said Anwar Iskandar
This commemoration was attended by thousands of invited guests from various circles, including representatives of ormas, Taklim assemblies, ambassadors, ministries and agencies, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
