Premium Rice Price in Mojokerto Drops to Rp 15 Thousand per Kg

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MOJOKERTO -- The Mojokerto City Government stated that the price of premium rice in the local area had broken through the price of Rp 17,000 per kilogram, but is now gradually decreasing in the range of Rp 15,000-15,500 per kilogram due to the supply from farmers to grain milling.

“Thank God, the price of rice has started to fall, hopefully later after the harvest the rice supply will be abundant and the price will return to stability,” said Acting Mayor Mojokerto Moh. Ali Kuncoro in Mojokerto, East Java, Sunday (3/3/2024).

Nevertheless, Mojokerto Government still conducts low-cost market operations to maintain the stability of commodity prices. According to Ali, although rice prices are gradually falling, there are some commodities that are experiencing price increases ahead of Ramadan. The Mojokerto City Government in the cheap market does not only provide rice.

“In cheap markets other than rice we have provided eggs for Rp 27,500 per kilogram, onions Rp 20,000 per kilogram and garlic Rp 26,000 per kilogram,” he said.

To maintain the stability of the supply of premium rice, he has instructed that the civil apparatus of the country (ASN) buy rice through the Pracangan TPID TPID of the Tri madya Cooperative.

“We have instructed ASN in Mojokerto City to buy rice through Pracangan TPID Cooperative Tri Madya, if ASN purchases have been localized, the expectation is that rice that is on the market and in minimarkets is really special for the community,” he said.
