REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinator of the Special Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ari Dwipayana ensured that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will meet with PDIP General Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri. According to Ari, the Palace is also looking for the right time so that the relationship between the two national figures can be realized.

“Regarding the relationship with Mrs. Megawati, the right time is being sought,” Ari told reporters on Friday (12/4/2024).

According to Ari, the current month of Shawal is the right time to tighten the bond of silaturahmi. He also confirmed that President Jokowi is very open to contact with various national figures.

“It's still in the month of Shawal. The month of Syawal is the most appropriate month to strengthen ties,” he said.

Earlier, the Chief Expert of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Ali Mochtar Ngabalin said that President Joko Widodo's contact with PDIP Chief General Megawati Soekarnoputri on the momentum of the Eid al-Fitri 1445 leaflet is just a matter of time.

After celebrating Eid al-Fitr at the state palace yesterday, Jokowi and the family then travelled to Medan to meet one of his children, Kahiyang Ayu.

“Why didn't the president make a silaturahmi or halal visit with Ms. Mega this year? My answer is one. It's a matter of time,” Ngabalin said on Thursday (11/4/2024).

Ngabalin mentioned that no member of the Jokowi family sowan to Megawati at this moment of release because no one happened to be in Jakarta.

Ngabalin considers both Jokowi and Megawati to be sincere leaders who deliver the best things for the nation. So that if there is a meeting between the two, Ngabalin said it must be aimed at the interests of the nation and the state.
