REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GARUT -- Department of Tourism and Culture (Disparbud) Garut Regency, West Java (Jabar) delivered tourist visits in Garut it reached 31,448 people during the holiday of Lebaran 2024/Eid al-Fitri1445 Hijri. According to the Head of Disparbud of Garut District Luna Aviantrini, there was an increase compared to the previous year's holiday.
“Overall there is a rise,” said Luna, in Garut, Wednesday (17/4).
Luna said that during the Eid al-Fitri holiday season 1445 Hijri, many tourists visit natural tourist destinations, beaches, lakes, and others scattered in a number of districts in Garut Regency.
The number of tourist visits recorded, he said, for the tourist destinations managed by the Garut Regency, namely Situ Bagendit, Situ and Cangkuang Temple, then the tourist attractions of Santolo Beach, Sayang Heulang, and Rancabuaya reached 31,448 people during the 2024 Lebaran holiday.
The number of tourist visits, he continued, is increasing compared to the momentum of the 2023 Lebaran holiday, which was recorded by 27,326 people in tourist destinations managed by the local government. “For the five tourist destinations, thank God during the Eid al-Fitr holiday from day H to H+4 the number of tourist visits is quite encouraging,” he said.
According to him, the increase in tourist visits was due to the impact of tourism promotion activities, then the presence of art performances in public spaces of tourist areas such as in Situ Bagendit and Situ Cangkuang. The presence of art promotion and performance, he said, is an attraction for people who want to visit tourist destinations in Garut Regency, especially during the Lebaran holiday season.
He added that after the Lebaran holiday season, further efforts were made to evaluate its shortcomings and advantages as the next step to improve tourism services in Garut. “We will first evaluate the results of our monitoring in the field during the Lebaran holiday, as well as the implementation of art shows in tourist destinations,” he said.
