REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Amanat Party (PAN) is preparing a number of its best cadres to advance in the Jakarta gubernatorial election to be held in November 2024. The PAN gave priority to its own cadres to advance.

“The PAN does prioritize its cadre going forward. If Jakarta is Eko Patrio, there is Mba Lula Kamal, there is Zita Anjani, many,” PAN General Chairman Zulkifli Hasan told reporters at the PAN DPP Office, South Jakarta, Tuesday (23/4/2024).

Eko Patrio is a comedian who now serves as the Chairman of DPW PAN DKI Jakarta and a member of DPR RI of PAN faction. Lula Kamal is a doctor as well as an actress. Meanwhile, Zita Anjani is the son of Zulhas and is now serving as Deputy Speaker of DPRD DKI Jakarta.

PAN Deputy General Chairman Yandri Susanto said that his party is now weighing who is the most potential cadre to advance in the Jakarta election. He said that PAN opened the possibility of transferring its cadre to become a candidate for governor or a candidate for vice governor.

“We are still looking at who is most likely for us, but it is clear that PAN carries that responsibility we want to offer our cadres as well,” Yandri said on the same occasion.

According to Yandri, the chances of PAN cadres advancing are considerable given that PAN has 10 seats in Jakarta's DPRD. For the record, a political party or combined political party must have 20 percent of the seats in parliament to carry a cagub-cawagub pair.

Despite having seats and potential cadres, PAN also opens up opportunities to bring politicians of other parties forward in the DKI election. “If there are no other cadres, then we will also open up the widest opportunities for external parties to jointly move forward,” Zulhas said.
