REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Department of Labor Transmigration and Energy (Disnakertransgi) of Jakarta Province recorded 256 complaints of companies not paying the holiday allowance (THR) Eid al-Fitri 1445 Hijriyah. The company complained about does not pay THR to its employees for various reasons.

Head of Disnakertransgi DKI Jakarta, Hari Nugroho said that the number of complaints this year has decreased quite drastically compared to last year. Because, in 2023, there were 774 complaints of companies that did not pay THR to their employees.

“So if we look at the percentage, (there was) a decrease from 774 complaints in 2023 to 256 complaints,” Hari said in Puncak area, Bogor Regency, West Java, Friday (26/4/2024).

He mentioned that there are many reasons why companies cannot pay THR to their employees. First, the company went bankrupt and was unable to pay THR.

According to Hari, the case was handled through mediation. This means that it will mediate so that the company can still pay THR according to its ability.

Today, there are also companies that do not pay THR because they are closed. Meanwhile, its employees were affected by the closure and could not be paid their THR. “The cases are manifold, but thank God those hundreds at the end of the year are definitely done,” he said.

In the event of complaints being dropped, Hari said, there were several influencing factors. First, the company's condition has been good after Covid-19. Secondly, awareness from the company is already good, because THR is an employee right. Thirdly, because the supervision is carried out to the maximum.

“The routine of our surveillance into the field is also monitoring into the field and then checking that it was our target, so the company is a bit horrified. Because if the provisions are not finalized, we will impose sanctions,” Hari said.
