REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The General Chairman of the Golkar Airlangga Hartarto Party said that there is opportunity to represent former Mayor of Tangerang Selatan Airin Rachmi Diany in the 2024 Banten Regional Election with the Indonesia Maju Coalition. The Golkar Party is a member of KIM to run for President-Vice President-elect Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election.

“If KIM has relatively discussed some of the same names, including for Banten,” Airlangga said in Kebayoran Baru area, Jakarta, Friday (17/5/2024) evening.

Airlangga also said that the determination of the name of a candidate for deputy governor of Banten to accompany Airin is in the process. “It is being communicated with the parties and again later it will be decided which is the highest outcome,” he said.

Airlangga explained that the determination will take into account the results of surveys that are usually the Golkar Party's reference in deciding a matter. “Yes, if Golkar is survey-based. We will survey in May, June and July, just as we set,” he explained.

Earlier, PAN General Chairman Zulkifli Hasan after the Workshop and National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of PAN on Election Resolution 2024 in Jakarta, Friday (10/5/2024), said that Airin will be one of the names considered in the 2024 Banten election. “Banten? Many have already signed up, six people. There is Airin, there is Dimyati (Member of Parliament of RI Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah), there is Arief (former Mayor of Tangerang Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah),” Zulhas said.
