REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN— Masjid Prosperity Agency (BKM) of Masjid Raya Al-Mashun Medan, North Sumatra received a 1-ton cow from Prabowo Subianto as a qurban animal to be slaughtered on Eid al-Adha Day 1445 Hijriyah.

Chairman of the Qurban Committee of Al-Mashun Raya Mashun, Hansar Sinaga said the qurban animal was handed over directly by Prabowo Subianto's team to the mosque administrator on Sunday (16/6).

“This afternoon (Red-Sunday) ended the Ashar prayer or around 4 o'clock the cow was handed over to us,” said Hansar Sinaga, in Medan, Sunday (17/6/2024) night.

Hansar claimed to have given this qurban animal after the administrator of the Al-Mashun Grand Mosque was informed that the President-elect would give up a cow to be used as a qurban animal on Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijri.

“All the health of the animals has been checked directly by Mr. Prabowo's team. We have information that he handed over the cow to be herded here,” he said.

In addition to the cows belonging to Prabowo Subianto the administrator of Masjid Raya Al-Mashun also received qurban cows from former Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi, Chief of Sumut Irjen Pol Agung Setya Imam Effendi, Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, National Figures Rahmat Shah and others.

“This year, the qurban animals in this mosque are nine cows and five goats. We will distribute all the meat,” he said.

The qurban animal slaughter procession, he said, will be held on H+1 of Eid al-Adha or on Tuesday (18/6). It was done, considering that the slaughter procession took quite a long time.

At the execution of the qurban animal slaughter, he continued, the administrator of the Grand Mosque of Al-Mashun will deploy 80 officers in the procession of the qurban animals.

“We will distribute to the surrounding residents through the heads of neighborhoods located around the Al-Mashun Grand Mosque and a number of houses of tahfidz quran. We don't give out coupons,” he said.

Meanwhile, Al-Mashun Raya Mosque performed the Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijriyah prayer at 7:30pm led directly by Hansar Sinaga as Imam and Ulumuddin as Khatib.
