REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Fun Bike registration is still open at H-4 during the event on July 20, 2024. Koni DIY Cooperation Committee, Fitri Susanti said that per day registrations can reach hundreds.

Moreover, the participants of this activity are expected to reach 5,000 people. “If daily there can be hundreds (who sign up),” Santi told Republika on Tuesday (16/7/2024).

Santi has not been able to name exactly how many people have signed up to participate in this activity. However, as of last week, the registrations were more than two thousand people.

It is hoped that the number of registrants can reach the target ahead of the Fun Bike implementation day later. Moreover, various stakeholders in government and sports are also encouraged to be able to contribute to this activity.

This Fun Bike was held in order to support athletes and DIY contingent competing in XXI Aceh-Sumut 2024. In addition, this activity is also an effort for socialization and education related to environmental issues, especially in DIY, mainly related to waste issues.

For this reason, this event was held with the theme 'Sehati for the Earth by KONI DIY in collaboration with Republika. “Because the residents don't know where to put the garbage and how to manage the garbage. I think that education should continue to be carried out massively and continuously,” Santi said.

This event will be held from 06.00 WIB with start and finish in Kenari Square, Yogyakarta City. Participants will circle the city of Yogyakarta for 11 kilometers.

“Through this Fun Bike activity, we hope that a little or a lot of the contributions of KONI DIY and Republika can benefit the community. Especially at the finish point, participants can also get tree seeds. Ketapang kencana, handkerchief, there are three kinds of trees. So participants can bring tree seedlings to plant, this as well as a greening campaign,” he explains.
