REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PARIS -- President-elect and Minister of Defense (Menhan) of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with the leaders of major companies under the auspices of the French Kadin in Paris on Thursday (25/7/2024). Prabowo sat flanked by SOE Minister Erick Thohir and Chairman of the Indonesian Women's Consideration Board Anindya N Bakrie.

The meeting is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen economic ties between Indonesia and France. During the meeting, Prabowo stressed the importance of enhancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the two countries. This is in view of the great potential that Indonesia and France have.

“We see many opportunities and potential for closer cooperation in different sectors of the economy. Through intensive dialogue and collaboration, we can create significant mutual benefits for both countries,” Prabowo said in a press release in Jakarta on Friday (26/7/2024).

The statement was in line with earlier talks between Menhan Prabowo and French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace, Paris, which also stressed the need to strengthen bilateral ties in various fields, including the economy and defense.

With the meeting, Prabowo hopes that the economic relationship between Indonesia and France can be closer and contribute positively to the economic development of both countries. Both sides agreed to continue dialogue and cooperation in order to realize a more advanced and prosperous common vision.

The meeting was also attended by Indonesian Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar, members of the Gerindra DPR RI faction Budisatrio Djiwandono and Sugiono, as well as businessman duo Rosan Perkasa Roeslani and Vishnu Wardana.
