REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo wore traditional Betawi fashion while attending the Annual Session of the Parliament and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD in 2024 Senayan Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, Friday (16/7/2024).
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended with First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo around 8:55pm.
President Jokowi wears Betawi's traditional Demang fashion in black and matching trousers. The outfit is combined with a purplish-colored fabric with a chain decoration on the chest, as well as black peci.
Meanwhile, First Lady Iriana Jokowi wore a golden beige kebaya with matching songket fabric.
Iriana opted for the long kebaya complemented by a golden cream-colored shawl mounted on her right shoulder. The First Lady looked graceful with simple makeup and tousled hair.
Unlike last year, President Jokowi wears traditional Moluccan attire with dark brown Tanimbar woven fabric, as well as a black headdress and a white ornate necklace.
Upon arrival, President Jokowi and Iriana were greeted by Chairman of the Assembly of RI Bambang Soesatyo, Speaker of the Parliament of RI Puan Maharani and Chairman of DPD RI Lanyalla Mahmud Mattalitti in the Paripurna Meeting Room of the Nusantara Building, Senayan Parliament Complex.
President Jokowi then took a picture together accompanied by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Wife Wury Ma'ruf Amin, and the Speaker of the Parliament, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Chairman of DPD RI, and his wife.
The 2024 Annual Session was held with the theme “Nusantara Baru, Indonesia Maju” consisting of the Annual Session of the Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia, the Joint Session of the DPR RI and the DPD RI, and the Plenary Session Opening of the First Session of the Parliament of the Year 2024-2025.
In the Annual Session of the Assembly of the RI-Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI, RI President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will deliver a report on the performance of state institutions, and at the same time a state speech on the occasion of the 79th Anniversary of RI.
After the Annual Meeting of the Parliament and the Joint Session, the event will continue at 13:30pm to hold the Plenary Session of the Parliament of RI on the RAPBN Year 2025.
