REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Rabu Hijrah expressed congratulations and appreciation for the re-election of Erick Thohir as Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in the Red and White Cabinet of President Prabowo Subianto's government.
The Executive Director of Rabu Hijrah, Rio Chaniado Anggara, reiterated the trust again given to Erick Thohir shows recognition of the outstanding achievements and performance that has been achieved during the previous term. Erick's success in leading the transformation of SOEs in past government periods has positioned him as the right figure to continue his leadership milestones in SOEs.
“We congratulate and extend our highest appreciation to Mr Erick Thohir who is once again trusted to lead the Ministry of state-owned enterprises under the government of Mr. Prabowo Subianto. This election is not without reason. This is a form of recognition of the tangible results of the achievements and hard work he has shown in managing SOEs during his previous term,” Rio said.
Rio highlighted how under the leadership of Erick Thohir, the Ministry of SOEs has managed to carry out significant transformations that have had a broad impact on various sectors of the national economy. In his previous term, Erick Thohir was known for his reform initiatives that improved efficiency, transparency, and governance in the SOE environment.
Various strategic steps taken, such as restructuring state-owned enterprises, increasing collaboration with the private sector, and strengthening the competitiveness of red plate companies, have resulted in achievements that not only bring SOEs to a better level financially, but also to be more globally competitive.
SOEs have provided dividends for the country amounting to Rp 85.52 trillion in 2024. The number of SOE dividends increased compared to 2023 with a dividend of Rp 81.2 trillion. In addition, the state-owned tax deposit for the country from red plate companies in 2023 amounted to Rp 439 trillion.
“In the hands of Erick Thohir, we have seen major changes in state-owned enterprises, from better governance to improved profitability and efficiency. This is a clear testament to his leadership and dedication in driving reforms that bring positive impact to Indonesia's economy, ” Rio added.
Furthermore, Rio cited several concrete examples of the success of SOEs under the leadership of Erick Thohir, including the management of restructuring programs of troubled state-owned enterprises, the separation of unproductive business units, as well as the establishment of strategic state-owned holding that strengthened the competitiveness of national industries, from the energy sector to tourism.
The effort achieved outstanding results on the international scene, two state-owned enterprises namely PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) and PT Bank Mandiri (Mandiri) entered Time World's Best Companies of 2024 or the list of the best companies in the world.
