REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANGKALAN -- The Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Ministry of Religious Affairs) of Bangkalan Regency, East Java, facilitates the management of halal certificates for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.
“The halal certificate management facility that we provide to MSMEs in Bangkalan Regency is free of charge,” said the Head of Sub-Section of Administrative Services (Kasubbag TU) of the Bangkalan Wafir Ministry in Bangkalan, East Java, on Monday.
He explained the facilitation of the management of such halal certificates until the end of 2025.
According to him, the program is a form of commitment and support of the Ministry of Finance in helping micro-entrepreneurs, both in the food and beverage field.
“We hope that this program can be used by the micro businesses that exist in this Regency of Bangkalan,” he said.
He said that until November 4, 2024, MSMEs in Bangkalan Regency applied for the management of registered halal certificates about 1,500 business owners.
The number is still small, considering that the number of MSMEs in the westernmost district of Madura Island reaches 22,500 MSMEs.
“In order to maximize this program, we have also coordinated with Bangkalan Government to encourage MSMEs to follow this halal certification program,” he explained.
The free halal certification program is also a form of support to programs carried out by the Bangkalan Government, such as business capital assistance, NIB management (NIB) and Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI) for micro industry players free of charge.
“We are confident that with a mutually supportive program like this, then the economy of the people in this district can be better and go forward,” he said.
