REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG -- The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Ministry of Religious Affairs) of the Republic of Indonesia insists and reminds every preacher in the country should be able to calm the atmosphere instead of causing a disturbance such as chiding maki.
“The preacher must be polite, must not be divisive, must calm, reconcile, glue and must not criticize maki or menista,” said Director General of the Islamic Society Guidance Directorate of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Kamaruddin Amin on the sidelines of the Padang Kota Wakaf launch in Padang on Wednesday.
It was said that Kamaruddin responded to the polemic remarks of the confessor Miftah Maulana, who estimated that most of the community harassed a citizen selling iced tea.
In response to these condescending remarks, the member of the VIII Commission of the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia Maman Imanulhaq proposed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issue a certification for each informant in order to avoid a repetition of the case of Miftah Maulana.
In response to the Commission VIII proposal, he said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is still conducting a review of whether this certification policy is mandatory or not. Because, if this policy is implemented, the Ministry needs to cooperate with the Indonesian Ulama Assembly (MUI) or other organizations.
Kamaruddin said that in 2023 the government through the Ministry of Religious Affairs has published the Circular Letter of the Minister of Religious Lecture (Menag) on the Guidelines for Religious Lectures. One of the purposes of the letter was to provide a clear lecture guide for religious speakers.
