REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) said that the number of passengers on the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train has increased to 20 thousand passengers per day ahead of Christmas 2024 and New Year holidays 2025. KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said the figure had increased by 15 percent.
As for the average ordinary day, the number ranges from 16 thousand to 18 thousand passengers per day. “Until now, the total tickets sold for the period 13-15 December 2024 have reached 60 thousand tickets,” Eva said in Bandung, West Java, Sunday (15/12/2024).

He projected that the increase will continue until the peak of Nataru holidays in 2024/2025, along with the high mobility of people to vacation and gather with families. To accommodate the increasing number of passengers, KCIC operates 48 Whoosh trips with 28 thousand seats per day.
“This upward trend is expected to occur as more and more communities are starting holidays as the school children's exam period is over and are now starting to enter a fairly long school holiday period as it will continue until the holidays at later Christmas and New Year moments,” Eva said.
