REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Center Leadership Prof Haedar Nashir and the ranks received a visit from the Ambassador of the United States (USA) at the Dakwah Muhammadiyah Center Building, Jakarta, today. The heated meeting between the two sides discussed a variety of issues, especially Palestine.

As is well known, Israel's colonization of Palestine lasted for decades until now. In fact, the Gaza Strip has been the victim of genocide committed by the Zionist entity in the past year.

Publicly, Haedar Nashir called on the US through Ambassador Kamala Shirin Lakhdir to be concerned about Palestinian independence. Muhammadiyah wants peace for all nations.

Therefore, Haedar continued, a two-state solution should be pursued in order to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The U.S. played a crucial role in realizing efforts in that direction.

“Because we know, the United States plays a role on human rights, peace, and also the new world order,” Ketum of PP Muhammadiyah said, as quoted from a written statement on Tuesday (17/12/2024).

He added that the conflict between Israel and Palestine has a wide impact not only in the Middle East region, but also Southeast Asia and Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary that many parties participate and provide solutions to solve this problem of humanitarian conflict.

In order to support the struggle of the Palestinian people, Muhammadiyah has been devoting a lot of aid, both in the form of qualitative, medium and long-term. For example, many Muhammadiyah-'Aisyiyah colleges (PTMA) provide scholarships for students from Palestine.
