REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza stated that the government-sponsored Luxury Goods Sales Tax (PPnBM DTP) incentive of 3 percent for hybrid cars will be applied on January 1, 2025. This incentive will last for one year.
“Yes, one year,” he said he was met in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/12/2024).
Wamenperin said, once implemented, the incentive will later be re-examined by the government. “A year or so it will be studied again,” he said.
The government provided incentives in the form of a Sales Tax on Government-Backed Luxury Goods (PPnBM DTP) of 3 percent for hybrid cars starting January 1, 2025.
“I ask that the manufacturers of hybrid cars that exist in Indonesia immediately register their brands with us, so that next year, from January 1, they can enjoy incentives,” Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said in a press conference on the Economic Policy Package: Accelerating Inclusive & Sustainable Economic Growth, held at the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs Building in Jakarta, Monday (16/12/2024).
For PPnBM DTP incentive for hybrid engined motor vehicles, the estimated budget required by the government is Rp 840 billion.
Agus said that in the Minister of Industry Regulation No. 36 of 2021 on Low Carbon Emission Four-Wheel Motor Vehicles, the government has already regulated the value of the domestic component level (TKDN) that is a requirement for hybrid car manufacturers to participate in the program.
