Erick added that PSSI thanks and appreciates all the contributions that STY has made to the development of the Indonesian national team. “PSSI wishes the best for Shin Tae Yong for his future,” Erick said.

Regarding the change of coach just two months ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Erick said it was normal.

“Many other countries change coaches, just calculate the risk. Today is best, there is 2.5 months. We are looking for communicative and tactical figures. We aim to qualify for the 2026 World Cup for a new coach later,” Erick said.
