Indonesia seeks cooperation with Afghanistan

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NUSA DUA - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expressed his hope to dig out more potential on cooperation between Indonesia and Afghanistan. He also mentioned potential sectors namely economy, education, and culture. 

“It is agreed that we will ask our ministers to follow up the results of this bilateral meeting," SBY said after holding courtesy call with his Afghanistan Counterpart President Hamid Karzai. 

Meanwhile, Hamid Karzai said Indonesia was a strategic partner. He also invited Indonesia to invest in Afghanistan.

The bilateral meeting was ended with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on capacity building and diplomat training, free-visa for diplomat, and cultural exchange. The MoU was signed by both Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Education and Culture.
