REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - San Francisco International Airport, United States, now has a prayer room completed with wudu or washing facility. The facility is located in the basement of the airport, near the main parking area, according to an article in San Francisco Chronicle.
The praying room is also provided with a place for wudu, an Islamic procedure for washing parts of the body using water, typically in preparation for formal prayers, with adequate water.
The praying room was initiated by Muslim workers who presented a proposal to airport operator. Despite the praying room is not too large, Muslims in San Francisco Airport are happy with such facility.
One of those who fight for the provision of this facility is a taxi driver from the Royal Cab, Hasan Khan (52 years old). After that, the Airport operator decided to meet the demands of Muslims.
"We are very happy and grateful," Ahmed Al Gazali, said. The taxi driver works at the airport area.
