REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono reiterated that some improvement development in Egypt made Indonesians' evacuation unnecessary at this moment.

"There is no evacuation plan for now. But if any Indonesian student there wishes to return home, the government will facilitate their repatriation," he told the press at the Presidential Palace on Friday.

Earlier, Yudhoyono held talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak about the current crisis in Egypt on Friday. The president revealed that both leaders share the same view on how to resolve the conflict in that country.

"I spoke to the Malaysian prime minister on the phone this afternoon, and we shared our thoughts on the latest developments in Egypt," he said on Firday.

"Thank God, we have the same view. Both of us hope that the Egyptian problem gets solved peacefully and the conflicting parties reach a sustainable resolution so no more lives are lost," Yudhoyono stated.

The head of state said he was also in constant touch with Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa. The minister is now in New York to meet with a number of entities in the United Nations, including the Human Rights Council. "Our minister has expressed Indonesia`s stand on the Egyptian issue during his meetings," he continued.
