REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WARSAW - Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with the justice and interior ministers to discuss ways to prevent drunken driving. 

The meeting on Thursday was Tusk's response to the deaths of six people who were hit by a car driven by a drunken 26-year-old on Wednesday in Kamien Pomorski, in northern Poland. Two children were hospitalized with injuries.

Last month, a 31-year-old drunken woman drove into a pedestrian subway in downtown Warsaw at night. No one was injured.

Interior Minister Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz says the problem is a general tolerance of drunken driving by Poles. Janusz Popiel, head of an association of road accidents' victims, blames courts for leniency toward drunken drivers.
