REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHRAN -- A trade delegation from Thailand, grouping officials of the country's food, car, electronics, and shipping industries, will travel to Iran on Sunday for discussing cooperation with Tehran, Tehran Times daily reported on Saturday.
Thailand can be a reliable source for exporting electronic components and car parts to Iran, Mohammad-Hossein Barkhordar, head of the union of Iranian importers, was quoted as saying.
In turn, Iran can meet Thailand's needs of chemical, industrial and mineral products, Barkhordar said.
Last week, Thailand ambassador to Iran Adisorndej Sukhasvasti expressed hope for an increase in the trade cooperation between Bangkok and Tehran.
There are a lot of opportunities for expanding economic cooperation between Thailand and the Islamic republic, said Sukhasvasti, adding that he and the Iranian ambassador to the Southeast Asian country, Hossein Kamalian, "are now planning different projects in this regard."
The Thai ambassador said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has been trying to establish friendly ties with all countries since the beginning of his term in office, adding that "Undoubtedly, relations between Iran and other countries, including Thailand, will improve."
Thailand can cooperate with Iran in the cultural and hotel management fields as well as holding exhibitions, he stressed.
