REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Second Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD) will be organized in Jakarta, on March 1, 2014.
Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah would deliver key speeches in the opening of the conference, the Indonesian foreign affairs ministry said in a statement recently.
Participants of the conference will include officials from Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos and Myanmar. Representatives of international organizations such as the UN and observers from the United States, Australia, Norway, Russia, and Middle Eastern nations will also attend the meeting. The first CEAPAD was held in Japan in February 2014.
The Indonesian foreign affairs ministry's director for technical cooperation, Siti Nugraha Mauludiah, recently said that the CEAPAD II will also discuss Indonesias commitment to Palestines development.
"Indonesia's readiness to host the CEAPAD II reaffirms Indonesia's support and assistance to the government and people of Palestine," she said.
