REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANGKOK -- A hand grenade was thrown but did not explode at the home of a leader of the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) in Sukhumvit Soi 18.
The home belongs to PDRC leader Nataphol Teepsuwan and his wife Taya Teepsuwan.
The grenade was thrown at 5am Wednesday but did not explode. Police suspected the bomb was aimed to threaten the owners and not to take their lives.
Police are investigating images from closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) and asking witnesses of the situation for further prosecution of the bomber.
Meanwhile, police at Makkasan Station arrested two PDRC guards while they were driving past a checkpoint in front of Pheu Thai Party Headquarters early Wednesday.
In the guards' vehicle, .32 and .38 pistols as well as 24 cartridges were found along with PDRC guard identities, bulletproof vests and tear gas.
The two men said they would only give testimony in court.
