REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHRAN -- Iran's FM spokeswoman has said the ministry has received the news on two Iranian passengers of missing Malaysian jet.

Marzieh Afkham responded to a Mehr News question about the missing Malaysian jet and tow Iranian passengers in the plane.

"We offer condolences with the families of passengers on board the missing jet. Passengers had been from different nationalities and we offer condolences to those countries as well," Afkham said.

"We have received the news about two Iranian passengers on board Malaysian airliner," she added, and that "we communicate the situation with Iranian embassy in Kuala Lumpur."

The Malaysian airliner went missing immediately after entering Vietnamese airspace.

"Many possibilities have so far been proposed including the counterfeit passports and human trafficking, which are among our concerns," Afkham asserted.

Asked about the probability that EU establishes office in Tehran, she told that no such discussions had been made and that the ministry would not confirm any story.

Asked about Catherine Ashton's meeting with some Iranian woman activists and Ashton's remarks that the meeting was coordinated with the Foreign Ministry, Afkham told that no coordination had been made with the ministry, and that "we communicated the dissatisfaction with such undiplomatic act to the Austrian embassy in Tehran, to which the ambassador regretted the act," Afkham said.

"We expected that EU officials strongly adhere to the rules after so long a time of tension in Iran and the EU relations rooted in unilateral sanctions," she added.
