REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur held a movie screening titled Sang Pemberani to celebrate Indonesia's National Day which falls on Sunday, Aug 17, a press release from the embassy said.
Hundreds of Indonesians came to the embassy to see the movie which tells about the struggle of a boy who fell victim to devastating tsunami that hit Aceh province in 2004. The boy, Madi, lost his father and brother who died due to the tsunami. Eventually, through hardworking, Madi survived and became an international Karate champion.
Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Herman Prayitno expressed appreciation for the director of the movie, Reza B Surianegara, for bringing the movie to Kuala Lumpur and wished people can take a lesson from watching the movie.
Before the movie screening, on Sunday morning there was a flag raising ceremony at the embassy attended by Indonesians living in Kuala Lumpur.
