REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON - Under Secretary of Italy's International Cooperation and Foreign Minister, Benedetto Della Vedova said Indonesia was Italy's main partner in Southeast Asia.
Benedetto Della Vedoya made the statement during a diplomatic reception held in connection with Indonesia's 69th anniversary at the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, according to Nindarsari Utomo, a spokesman of the Indonesian Embassy in Rome said on Sunday.
In an effort to increase relations with Indonesia, according to Benedetto Della Vedoya, the Italian foreign ministry will hold a conference dedicated to Indonesia at the end of 2014.
Earlier, Indonesian Ambassador to Italy August Parengkuan said Italy was Indonesia's third largest trade partner in European Union. They are both members of G-20 and have continued to increase relations since in the past 65 years.
