REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs eases the permit of foreigners who help rescuing AirAsia QZ8501 who enters Indonesia. Government will provide free visa for them.
Director of Consular at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tri Tharyat, said that every foreign citizen usually obtain visa after three days. "It is an emergency. We provide free visa for the countries helping the rescue," Tharyat said on Wednesday, January 7.
About 11 countries involve in search and rescue, while other four countries help identifying the victims. Singapore sends six aircrafts, including chopper, and five ships.
Malaysia sends an aircraft and five vessels. Australia and South Korea each sends two aircrafts and an aircraft. US sends two vessels and two choppers.
Japan sends two vessels and three choppers. Russia brings two aircraft in which one of them is amphibious.
New Zealand and China each send one aircraft. France sends an aircraft and vessel as well as experts. UK sends two experts on sea detector.
