REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JERUSALEM -- Israel carried out overnight raids against Syrian army targets, the military said Wednesday, saying Damascus was responsible for rocket fire that hit the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
"Earlier today (Tuesday), rockets hit the Golan Heights," the Israel Defence Forces said.
"In response, a short while ago the IDF targeted Syrian Army artillery posts," it added in a statement.
Military spokesman Peter Lerner said the IDF "holds the Syrian government accountable for all attacks emanating from its land, and will operate by any means necessary to defend Israeli civilians".
